The department of Automobile Engineering was established in the academic year 2009-2010. Since its commencement, the primary objective of the department has been to impart quality education, training and research at the undergraduate level in various areas of Automobile Engineering with broad emphasis on design, analysis and development of Automobile Systems. Over the last twelve years, efforts have been taken for the development of laboratories as per curriculum of Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune and A.I.C.T.E., Delhi norms. Major laboratories in the department are I.C. Engine, Automotive Systems and Testing, Vehicle Maintenance and Garage Practice, Automotive Transmission, Automotive Electrical and Electronics, Vehicle Dynamics, TOM, MQC, CAD/CAM, Project and Motor Sports Laboratory. Expert lectures and visits to nearby industries are arranged to keep the students updated regarding latest developments. Since 2015 to 2019, fourteen students from the department have qualified GATE and got admission in IITs and NITs for higher studies. Students have also progressed for International Post Graduation programs in different countries like USA, Canada, and Germany etc. Teaching and Supporting-Staffs of this department are well qualified, young and dynamic. Out of 10 teaching faculties, 2 are Ph.D. holders and 3 are pursuing their PhD. Department is having three Technical Lab Assistants and three Auto Technicians along with one Laboratory Attendant for guiding the students during practical performance. Department is responsible for developing eminent engineers as professionals, researchers and entrepreneurs for sustainable development. Department assures that each and every student passing out from Automobile Engineering Department will have diversified knowledge and capable to work in any field of life and will be ready for lifelong learning.
